We’re already in February (where did January go?), and we’ve been hearing a LOT that while you have the best of intentions, those slippery little resolutions still seem out of reach. Want to know the good news? It’s the start of the Chinese New Year (yep year of the Wood Snake), so it’s the perfect time to start over. Plus, isn’t January just a warm-up anyway?!
Have you been putting 110% effort in but not seeing the results? Don’t worry you’re not alone. This is something we hear all the time and it’s one of the reasons we created Hera. Most of the time this comes down to not being in a deficit. Say what now!? Read on, or if you’d like expert help with a full diet assessment, please get in touch.
If you’re struggling to find an exercise routine that you can fit into your busy schedule and actually stick to, we’ve got you! CALL IN REINFORCEMENTS
It turns out, one of the biggest barriers to really sticking to your News Year’s Resolutions is ditching that all-or-nothing attitude. Most of us fail because when we fall off the wagon, we give up for good. The truth is: you’re never going to be perfect, and you’re never going to nail your intentions 100% of the time. So, next time you slip up, make sure you get back up! Acknowledge your mistake and then move on. This really is the key to making your resolutions realistic and achievable. And, after all, consistency is key — so, as long as you’re on track 80% of the time, let yourself indulge a little too. And this makes it’s a whole lot easier to maintain your goals for the long-haul. It’s not meant to be a grind. It’s a lifestyle choice. That’s why our Hera programs are built around balance.
Okay, so January might not have gone to plan but get back on that horse, girl!

It’s a common misconception that you need to pound the pavement or train for hours a day to lose and maintain weight. The reality is: what’s on your plate could actually be the key to achieving that dream figure. Yes, exercise does sculpt and tone your body, and without it, it’s unlikely you’ll achieve the shape you’re after. But the issue with the idea that exercise alone will answer all your problems is that after a heavy sweat session, food often becomes the reward, undoing all your hard work. Studies have shown the most important factor in weight loss is an energy deficit AKA consuming less calories than you’re burning. Sounds obvious? It does but you’d be surprised how many people forget to factor in sauces, condiments and drinks, or undo all their hard work by over-consuming calorie-full ‘healthy snacks’. To make sure you’re in a deficit you need to track your food. There are lots of tools to help you do this (like MyFitnessPal). And if you’d like a hand with this, just get in touch. We’re pros at calorie counting and have loads of tips and tricks up our sleeves to make it a breeze.
A HERA TRANSFORMATION
Joining Hera was the best decision I made. My goal was to lose body weight, and become a healthier, fitter version of myself. Well, I got that and more!!! I lost 20kgs in the year and saw a total change in my body composition! But I gained so much more than the visible results. I now feel so much happier in myself and about life in general, and people comment on my energy and positive vibe. I also feel confident in my nutrition choices and know my way around the gym. And I know what to do if I veer off track for a few days. Keira and Nat are both so smart and the program I was given was designed specifically for me. It’s worth every cent.
